Leading Australian IP Neutral Hon. Dr. Annabelle Bennett (Ret.) AC SC Joins FedArb
October 23, 2024 – FedArb is pleased to announce Hon. Dr. Annabelle Bennett (Ret.) AC SC has joined its panel. Based in Australia, she studied law and practiced as a barrister for nearly 25 years, where she developed a specialty in intellectual property and now practices as a mediator and an arbitrator. She has also worked on numerous pharmaceutical and business method patents.
Hon. Dr. Bennett was appointed as a judge the Federal Court of Australia in 2003 and served until 2016. She ruled on numerous intellectual property cases such as Apple v. Samsung litigation in Australia, which involved numerous patents, including Standard Essential Patents, Antitrust issues, licensing and Australian, French and U.S. contract law.
She has also served as president of the Copyright Tribunal of Australia and the National Coordinating Judge of the Intellectual Property Practice Area. She is a member of WIPO and of the indicative List of Government and Non-Governmental Panelists for the WTO Disputes Settlement Process.

Hon. Dr. Benett earned her B.S. from University of Sydney and her LL.B./LL.D. from University of New South Wales.
